For the purpose of insurance archiving, one conventional photograph will not always suffice. With the chapel mace, we took detailed photographs of every part of the item. If ever needed, we can create one overall image that shows all the intricacies of such a delicate piece of silverware. Each item of silverware has its own electronic folder and is photographed with and without a measuring ruler. The whole collection is stored on CD-Rom disks Close up images are taken of any engraving and style detailing on each item. Macro shots (very close up) are taken of the all-important hallmark.
