Busts and statuettes may have to be photographed in-situ, without the luxury of artificial lighting. In both cases illustrated we had confusing background "clutter". By removing these distractions we were able to create images that focused on their condition and value. Sometimes, for the purpose of insurance archiving, one conventional photograph will not suffice. With both the swords and the model ship, we have developed a different technique for recording in one image, an overview of the item that when enlarged shows in exacting detail the uniqueness of the subject. If reclamation were ever needed on the artifacts we have illustrated, skilled craftsmen could call on a selection of high resolution detailed photographs, stored on CD-Roms, to work from.
